Gravel Epic Simlångsdalen 2026

Join the seventh annual Gravel Epic Simlångsdalen on July 5, 2026, for a cycling adventure through some of Southern Sweden's most serene gravel roads.

This is not a race, it is a community event!

Participants can choose between two routes: the Epic, covering 110 km with 1,300 meters of elevation gain, and the Classic, spanning 65 km with 600 meters of elevation. Both routes consist of approximately 90% gravel, ensuring a peaceful ride away from traffic.​

The event starts and finishes at Knallhult Tångarna, SE-310 38 Simlångsdalen, Sweden, with a 10:00 am departure; riders are advised to arrive 20 minutes early. A staffed depot will be available at the 62 km mark on the Epic route, offering water, sports drinks, bananas, and pastries, with a mandatory stop of at least three minutes. Participants should be self-supported, carrying necessary tools and spare tubes, though limited assistance will be available at the depot. Suitable bikes include gravel, cyclocross, hybrid, or mountain bikes with a minimum tire width of 35 mm, preferably 40+ mm for the longer route. GPS devices are required to follow the course, with routes provided shortly before the event.​ There is no signage.

Accommodation and dining options are available at Pensionat/Hotel Sågknorren, located just outside Simlångsdalen. They offer a Swedish grill buffet and pub for pre-booked riders, as well as overnight packages. Double rooms (for two people) are available, and single rooms as well, both including a breakfast buffet, please contact the hotel below. This is a non-competitive event focused on personal challenge and enjoyment. There are no race numbers or winners. Participants must use a GPS device to navigate the course. Free parking is available near the start/finish area, with a large pond nearby for swimming; however, shower facilities are not provided. Registration closes at 9:50 am on the event day. After completing the ride, participants can enjoy ice cream, cola, and buns.
